That’s………a really interesting spot you’ve got yourself in. I will say this, try everything you can to get into contact with him, but to put it simply:
1) I wouldn’t put off a dream for my boyfriend
2) If he doesn’t want to stay on board with you…that’s his decision. Worrying about that doesn’t do anyone any good.
3) He’s always been at sea….so why can’t you? ;]
It may turn out to work out exactly like you wish, or your roles may switch, but really…the person who loves you should support your dream, even if it means being apart from you, or your relationship being long distance. You can make it work if you both put in that effort. If it’s really your dream, go for it. It’s nice when things go hand in hand, but if they don’t, well…that’s life, and talk to your boyfriend when you have the chance and take it from there.
Talk it out, lay out your options, and use your head…and your heart. :)
I can’t make the decision for you, but I hope this was helpful to you. But wow! I would kill to work on a cruise ship…that would be an amazing experience. :] And you said that you’re Australian and he’s Ukranian. :] That’s so neat!
